Non-Food Handler
- Follow instructions to perform a variety of duties in a dining center or related facility
- Duties include using the dishwashing machine, cleaning equipment, mopping floors, cleaning tables, and disposing of trash and garbage
- Provide courteous, professional service to guests/patrons
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain the highest standards of sanitation
Floater
- Follow instructions to perform a variety of duties related to the preparation and serving of food
- Set up counters and food stations
- Keep stations and equipment clean
- Clean and prepare produce
- Assist in food production
- Rotate and stock items
- Provide courteous, professional service to guests/patrons
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain the highest standards of sanitation
Cook Helper
- Follow instructions and established procedures to help Cook
- Assist in preparing meals as needed, operating a variety of equipment including but not limited to grill, steamer, kettle, ovens, deep fat fryer, charcoal broiler, slicer
- Take food to serving lines, replenish as needed, and serve customers
- Store and date food items, observing proper storage of items (i.e., cold/hot, raw/cooked)
- Clean kitchen equipment
- Fill out service records and production sheets
- Provide courteous, professional service to guests/patrons
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain the highest standards of sanitation
Second Cook
- Exercise some judgment to follow recipes and general instructions
- Prepare all standard dining center meals including meat, vegetables, soups, pancakes, etc.
- Prepare the proper amount of food and time cooking so all items are ready to be served on schedule
- Provide courteous, professional service to guests/patrons
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain the highest standards of sanitation
Head Chef
- Exercise judgment to plan and perform a sequence of operations to prepare and cook a wide variety of meals
- Determine food production quantities while keeping waste at a minimum
- Plan and assign work to cooking staff
- Prep and cook all standard dining center meals including occasional special dishes
- Assist and instruct cooking staff in methods, procedures, and use of equipment
- Prepare food in proper amounts and coordinate cooking so that all items are ready for serving on schedule
- Complete weekly inventory of food products and determine weekly needs
- Provide courteous, professional service to guests/patrons
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain the highest standards of sanitation
